Web Design Process
Stage 1: Project Feasibility & Business Analysis
This stage involves consultations with the Trader Clicks to understand and document the overall objectives of a project, the current competitive environment analysis, what the project will offer to its final users and where it will need to differentiate itself from other websites to achieve project objectives.
Stage 2: Requirements Documentation
This step incorporates all the findings from the Business Analysis stage and translates them into the documentation required to make the development contract watertight and that expectations from the client and interpretations from developers are identical. Requirements documentation covers site process, site features, wireframes, platform research, design features, user functionality, site sections, any custom development and will be a definitively priced if possible. This is a document the client signs-off before any development work commences.
Stage 3: Design Work
if you have existing designs, then it’s usually easy for the designers to transfer them straight over to a Drupal platform. Alternatively, clients can start from scratch with completely new designs from basic website design to a full branding brief with logos and organisation image guides.
Stage 3a: Drupal Custom Development Work & Integration
Wherever possible, Trader Clicks encourages clients to stick with existing Drupal functionality and modules. However, sometimes it’s not possible to do so to achieve functionality required. In this case it’s usually possible for our developers to alter the Drupal code to suit client requirements. If Drupal is required to be integrated with other software platforms, then this can also be accommodated.
Stage 4: Drupal Implementation
If all the previous steps have been done well then this should be the easy bit! This involves installing Drupal, adding design features, configuring all the sections, the required user types, newsletters, comments, forums, integrating Drupal with third party platforms and the myriad of other things required to setup a perfect Drupal site.
Stage 5: Site Testing
This can be undertaken by the client or by Trader Clicks.
Stage 6: Client Sign-off
